“I was given an excellent sampling of British fashion, from the classics to the favourites to the new stars.” Karen Bauer
We take you to outstanding tailoring houses and the finest menswear shops, presenting the history of these great streets through stories of royal princes and Hollywood stars. The fabrics, the leathers, the scents combine to enable you to understand the complete uniqueness that has given St. James's and a small portion of Mayfair the fitting title, the Golden Square Mile of Menswear.
This is your chance to delight in yesterday’s dresses as well as today’s, as we see how the past is present in the fashions on offer in London shops and boutiques. You'll hear about court dressmakers, tailors, designers from the chic 1930s, the glam 1950s, the fun-and-free 1960s, plus punk and McQueen through to the present. You'll be able to see and handle rare period garments.
Mayfair's shops are veritable treasure chests of gorgeous clothes and jewellery set in beautiful surroundings, waiting for us to explore together. We give you time to contemplate shoes, perfume, handbags and all things feminine. Girlfriends may try on dresses, sit on the sofas and have a good natter along the way, as we bring you the fun of discovering the best London has to offer.
Come with us to a charming street of independent shops that have been servicing stylish men and women for decades. Enjoy engaging stories behind these classics with a twist, and, if you have time, let us take you around Marylebone. Everything is beautifully, sustainably crafted and feels very contemporary.
This is a rare treat for style and design afficionados, as cutting-edge fashions are explained and dissected in all their variety. We take you to grand stores and designer boutiques where the clothes just came off the catwalks. We tell the back stories of designers and discuss the evolution of their work. If time permits, we will wander from Mayfair to Soho, seeking out one-of-kind independent shops and collectives exhibiting young designers' newest work.
Give the special people in your life a full day to indulge their passion for style and fashion in London’s top boutiques and stores. To accompany the day, we offer sumptuous food and drink in a number of premier establishments whose magnificent atmospheres ask to be enjoyed. Let us know your interests, and, on the day, you can set the pace, deciding how much to see and when to stop and linger.
Never was there a time when we needed more to appreciate the captivating powers of vintage clothing, as well as the vast range available in style and price. We have glam dresses from the 1920s to 1980s; waistcoats with detailing to die for; vintage fabrics upcycled into cool jackets and streetwear. And we mix it all up with London history and tales about its great characters.
The history of western men's dress owes an awful lot to London, and we seek to capture the essence of those debts with stories that range from the seventeenth century to the present day, interspersed with visits to shops and tailoring houses. We conjure up men in on horseback in cutaway coats and men playing electric guitars in suits or frills, while we soak up contemporary clothes and accessories that bear the marks of their influence.
We offer half-day and full-day experiences that include food and drink to allow time to soak up inspiration from all the beauty and craftsmanship on display and to enjoy feeling part of rarefied worlds. We also offer tours of 2 to 4 hours that exclude food & drink, and we have a discounted rate for students. Visit individual Experience pages to find out more.
