Overview

Unique in central London, Chiltern and Dorset streets are rich in independent shops selling beautifully made, classically timeless products available nowhere else. You will visit an outstanding range of menswear shops, including Grey Flannel, Dashing Tweeds, John Simons and Casely Hayford, shops that attract customers who remain loyal not only because of the handsome products, but because the personal service is superb.

Equally at home in these streets is the assured woman in pursuit of comfort and flair. We introduce you to boutiques boasting handmade shoes from Turkey; naturally dyed jackets using recycled fabrics; very stylish yet wearable clothes from designers based in the UK, France, Italy and Japan. Then there are those velvet trouser suits by Bella Freud, another designer with a cult following whose cosy boutique asks to be relaxed in for a while.

Also in Chiltern street is jewellery being made by hand, a whisky shop, a woodwind shop, a leather shop, two art galleries and an exciting new shop offering perfumes, candles, olive oil and honey. If you’d like to pause for a coffee, you won’t find it better than from the little cafes here. We can go further afield if you have more time, as surrounding Marylebone contains several independent shops boasting the same kind of quality and attention to detail. This experience is perfect for couples, though, if you prefer, we can focus solely on womenswear or menswear, as we help you seek out the hidden gems.

Reviews

"I was very impressed by not only the wealth of knowledge my guide had but the diligence and care she took tailoring the tours to exactly my needs and interests. My two experiences with Fashion Tours London were the highlight of my trip. I would highly recommend them to anyone who feels any connection the apparel industry or wants to learn the history of a particular area of London." Sukoko66
"Having been to London several times, my parents and I have done all of the tourist sites. We wanted something different for our recent trip. A friend suggested Fashion Tours London. What a treat! Cindy's historical knowledge and enthusiasm for her subject matter was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Had we not needed to get to an early dinner before the theatre, we would have spent more time with her as she had so much more to share. Her relationship with the shop owners was an added bonus. This is a must-do activity if you plan to spend time in London!" Melanie Morris
