Voraciously Vintage
Overview
London is one of the greatest cities in the world for shopping vintage, and we want you to revel in it. There is Victorian vintage, where you can handle bodices, corsets and little fans that perhaps once fluttered at a tall, dark top-hatted gentleman. There are 1920s flapper dresses heaving with beadwork that are so sexy they make you long to dance in them. There are heavy tweed jackets from every decade, waistcoats to suit every body shape, hats and jewellery of all colours and descriptions. From the 1970s through to the 1990s, every kind of clothing is available, including very cool streetwear.
We firmly believe that finding vintage clothing and accessories that suit you can be a treasured revelation and well worth the treasure hunt after the one-of-a-kind that you didn’t even know existed. To come with us you need to be ready to encounter widely different environments, some simply gorgeous and packed with luxury items, some very pleasant with highly practical clothing, and others a bit smelly and terrific for bargain-hunting. London has it all in heaps.
We can take you to a variety of shops within a walkable area, or we can explore the incredible range of vintage that includes street markets -- like those on Portobello Road or Brick Lane -- with highly specialised dealers, who are great characters to boot. To visit the markets, you’ll need to book on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday (for weekends, please email Cindy). You are bound to find items that can enhance your personal style as no contemporary piece ever could. The sheer joy of the hunt is all, and we know we will leave you with people and places you can visit again and again.
