A visit to Floris on one of our London fashion tours provides a perfect combination of rich history and olfactory delights. Founded by 1730 by Juan Famenias Floris, the first perfume shop was opened at 89 Jermyn Street selling perfume and colognes, combs and shaving equipment. This original boutique with mahogany cabinets from the 1851 Great Exhibition is still at the heart of the business today. Having passed through nine generations, Floris is the oldest family-run, independent perfumer in the world. It can also boast at least seventeen royal warrants.
Floris created perfumes for some of our most loved and influential figures including Oscar Wilde, John F. Kennedy, Ian Fleming and Queen Victoria at her marriage to Prince Albert. Marilyn Monroe and Grace Coddington regularly stocked up on their favourite scents here too. One can just imagine Monroe wearing Rose Geranium, luxuriating in her own voluptuousness. On one of our London fashion tours, you can buy these scents along with many other iconic perfumes while revelling in history and atmosphere of this truly special gem.
